Appointment of Internal Quality Assurance Cell
In pursuance of the National Action Plan of the National Assessment and Accreditation Council
(NAAC), Bangalore, for performance evaluation, assessment, accreditation, and quality up-gradation of
institutions of higher education, the NAAC proposes that every accredited institution establish an Internal
Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) as a post-accreditation quality sustenance measure. Since quality enhancement
is a continuous process, the IQAC will become a part of an institution's system and work towards realizing
the goals of quality enhancement and sustenance.
Goals of Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC)
- To develop a quality system for conscious, consistent, and catalytic programmed action to improve the
academic and administrative performance of the Guru Nanak Institute of Higher Education (GNIHE).
- As per the NAAC guidelines, IQAC shall be a post-accreditation quality sustenance measure. The prime
task of the IQAC is to develop a system for conscious, consistent, and catalytic improvement in the
overall performance of institutions.
- To promote measures for institutional functioning towards quality enhancement through internalization of
quality culture and institutionalization of best practices leading to student empowerment.
Objectives of IQAC
- To develop a system for conscious, consistent, and catalytic action to improve the academic and
administrative performance of the institution.
- To promote measures for institutional functioning towards quality enhancement through internalization of
quality culture and institutionalization of best practices.
- To integrate other institutions of the GN Group to provide a holistic approach for quality initiatives
and to elevate GNIHE as a top-rated Higher Educational Institute in India.
Functions of IQAC
- Development and application of quality benchmarks/parameters for academic and administrative activities.
- Facilitating a learner-centric environment conducive to quality education.
- Feedback collection from students, parents, and other stakeholders.
- Dissemination of information on quality parameters of higher education.
- Organization of workshops and seminars on quality-related themes.
- Documentation of quality improvement activities.
- Preparation of the Annual Quality Assurance Report (AQAR).
- Development and maintenance of institutional databases through MIS.
- Promoting a quality culture within the institution.

It is expected that this IQAC will make a significant and meaningful contribution in the
post-accreditation phase of institutions. The IQAC will channelize the efforts and measures of the
institution towards academic excellence.
