Appointment of Anti-Ragging Committee

Ragging is defined as: Any disorderly conduct whether by words spoken or written or by an act which has the effect of teasing, treating, or handling with rudeness any other student, including rowdy or undisciplined activities which cause annoyance, hardship, psychological harm, or raise fear or apprehension in a fresher or any other student. Ragging is absolutely banned in the College Campus, and any student found indulging in such acts shall face strict disciplinary action, including immediate rustication and possible criminal consequences.

Objective

To create awareness about the dehumanizing effects of ragging and prevent its occurrence by keeping a continuous vigil. The committee aims to deal promptly and stringently with incidents of ragging.

Meetings

The Member Secretary, with the approval of the Chairman, shall convene meetings of the Anti-Ragging Committee monthly or as needed. One-half of the members shall constitute the quorum. If there is no quorum within half an hour, the meeting shall be adjourned and reconvened, where the members present shall form the quorum.

Roles & Responsibilities

The Anti-Ragging Committee will work under the supervision of the Anti-Ragging Squad to maintain a ragging-free environment and check key areas such as hostels, buses, canteens, and classrooms. The committee will also engage in awareness activities to prevent ragging incidents.
